After producing two highly regarded adoption rate forecasts covering commercial electric vehicles, ACT
Research is launching a commercial autonomous vehicle adoption rate forecast. Through a multi-client study format, the team at ACT Research will dedicate the next eight months to analyzing and forecasting the future of autonomous vehicles on America’s highways.
In 2018, ACT Research developed a ground-breaking, bottom-up total-cost-of-ownership (TCO) model to forecast battery and fuel cell electric vehicles. Since then, ACT has been considered the go-to source for segment-level TCO adoption rate forecasting, executing two editions of a North American-centric, and a global battery and fuel cell electric forecast for OEMs, suppliers, new entrants, infrastructure developers, fleets, capital investment firms, and others.
Utilizing this methodology, ACT will perform independent research in conjunction with input from study participants to develop a comprehensive look at the adoption of autonomous vehicles for on-highway transportation.
“Autonomous technology is quickly moving from simulation work and prototype field testing towards real availability for implementation in commercial vehicles. ACT Research knows this industry and has a deep understanding of cost drivers and economic ROI considerations for fleet operators. Working with our study participants, we will be able to deliver a solid, credible, financially-driven analysis and forecast for autonomous vehicle adoption in commercial vehicles,” remarked Ann Rundle, VP Electrification and Autonomy at ACT Research.

ACT Research recently completed POWER UP, a look at 7 global regions and more than 20 countries in a review of local regulations, infrastructure, and the impact on the adoption of battery and fuel cell electric commercial vehicles through 2040. This forecast is the first of its kind, a review of the decarbonization of commercial vehicles around the world. POWER UP is now available now at https://www.actresearch.net/power-up/
Additionally, ACT Research recently published an update to CHARGING FORWARD, a North American-centric battery and fuel cell electric vehicle adoption rate forecast, covering 23 vehicle applications, in Classes 4-8 commercial vehicles, through 2040. CHARGING FORWARD is considered by many industry leaders to be the apex of analysis and economic-based total cost of ownership modeling in the industry. And, it is now available for purchase at https://www.actresearch.net/electric-vehicles-charge/.
